Wai Care Goal
To enable communities to be active in the protection and management of waterways
Our objectives are to:
- Develop community awareness and understanding of water issues and their relationship to catchment health
- Enable communities to collect, store and report meaningful information about the health of their waterways
- Enable community involvement in planning and action to address waterway and catchment issues
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with all sectors of the community working towards healthy waterways
- Be an advocate for the ecological value of waterways at all levels and contribute to regional and national policy
- Maintain a consistent, well-resourced programme to support Wai Care activities and regularly evaluate our progress
Wai Care Strategy
The Wai Care Strategy provides a framework for the development of Wai Care for the period 2006-2009. It describes the vision, goal, objectives and intended outcomes of the Wai Care programme, and activities and projects that are undertaken by the Wai Care team.
