 This section is for teachers to use. We are going to be including activities to download and information to help you with Wai Care field trips. The coordinators have a lot of information that can assist you in implementing Wai Care into the curriculum with ease, just ask us and we will be happy to help!
Note: Wai Care is a popular programme so it's best if you're in touch with your Coordinator as soon as possible prior to starting your streams module.
Environmental Education
Our Environmental Education programme aims to encourage positive involvement in environmental issues by providing opportunities for schools to investigate and plan action for the environment. Stream investigations offer an opportunity for practical environmental education in an area covered by the national curriculum.
Together all of these resources contribute to a holistic approach, which is the Wai Care programme, integrating the three key dimensions of environmental education:
Education in the environment
Education about the environment, and
Education for the environment.
