Partnerships and Expectations: Wai Care is a flexible partnership, which allows schools to choose their level of commitment. We have found that testing 4 times a year is a good starting point. Below are examples of how other schools have committed
- A group of volunteer students test their local stream 4 times a year, and enters the data on the website
- A class tests 4 times a year, and enters the data on the website
- A teacher uses Wai Care as an integrated curriculum unit and the students test regularly
- The entire school uses Wai Care integrated into the curriculum. The school adopts their local stream and works toward improving it’s health through activities such as tree planting
What we expect from you is:
- Honesty and open communication
- Feedback as to how the programme is working for you
- Data is entered onto website if possible
- Return of the equipment if the school is no longer using it
- Agreement/understanding of the Wai Care goals
Health and Safety:
What we provide:
- Training and advice for H&S on site.
- Work with groups to produce Site survey sheet and Hazard Identification Sheet.
We are responsible for training in the Wai Care kits and hazard management. The school is responsible for the group’s safety and must carry out RAMS, in accordance with their own schools requirements.
