This Wai Care manual has been prepared to assist community groups in their initiatives to check the quality of local waterways, fix any problems found, prevent pollution and restore stream health. It was prepared under the guidance of Eddie Grogan (ARC) by Wai Care Steering Committee representatives from Auckland City Council, Waitakere City Council, North Shore City Council, Manukau City Council and Auckland Regional Council, and contributions from groups that took part in the pilot phase of the programme.
